The problem
Translation tools assume you are already scrolling.
Browser extensions and the translate button both work the same way: you open X, you scroll, and they translate what is on screen. That helps the person who wanted to be on X. It does nothing for the person who wanted to stop.

A translation you only see while scrolling is not a way out of the feed. It is a reason to stay in it.

Worth knowing
What this does not do.
It is a machine translation
Good enough to follow an argument, not good enough to quote in a contract. Keeping the original alongside is there for exactly this reason.
Some accounts can't be tracked
CalmBird does not track accounts based in the EU or EEA. Following a person based there may fall under the GDPR's territorial scope, so those accounts are refused when you add them, rather than quietly delivering nothing.
It is not a live feed
Posts arrive in digests, at the times you pick. That is the point of the product, and it is the reason a translation can be done once and reused.

Do I need an X account to follow someone?
No. CalmBird reads public timelines by handle on your behalf. You never connect, log into or authorise your own X account, so you do not need one at all.
Is translation included on the free plan?
Yes, on every plan. The free plan tracks two accounts and delivers three times a day at fixed times, with translation included.
Can I still see the original post?
Yes. Choose whether to keep the original next to the translation or show only the translation. Every post also links back to the original on X.
